Just like the Sampletank 3 Custom Shop is free for a few weeks (with in-app purchases of course). But the Presence XT only argument is to be free. I know it's provided for free in the bundle and I can't compare it to Kontakt, HALion or Falcon that are much more expensive. And it's not very interesting to use because the Synthesis and FX features are poor. Of course, there is a few scripting abilities in it, but it's doesn't seem to be as powerfull as its competitors, considering the quality of the instruments PreSonus provides with it (I didn't hear nothing that I could compare to the Sample Modeling Brass, to the Efimov guitars, to the Vienna Instruments, or to the AcousticSamples B5). Why ? Because Presence XT is not very exciting itself because it's one more challenger in a market with a lot of competitors. Sorry to say that but in my point of view, PreSonus has just killed Presence XT trying to sell this editor. Probably a fair asking price, if I know more. I'm excited, but like to know what I'm getting before I plunk my $79 down. Seems to have lots of knob, and editing points, but to what? Can it be trialed? Would to see more of its capability, really. Can it play back my own recorded samples? (Wav files?) Whats the actual editor look like? Zero cross points? Looping? Etc. Thinking I'll pick it up on the weekend, when I have time to work with it. I do need a better sample editor so it's looking good. I like Komplete a lot, but I'd also like Kontakt to be a more all 8nless one editor without being so big in size, so I think the new Presence XT Editor serves a purpose.
Yeah, as you say Lawrence, having the ability to edit Kontakt articulations.
Is there's also a manual available to view ahead of buying? It just helps see what the features are.
Typically I make some informed decision before I throw down my money.
